Setup guide

One minute, once.

DashNova is plug-and-play. Plug it in, pair your phone once, and from then on it connects by itself, every time you start the car. Here's the whole process.

  1. Plug it in

Plug DashNova into your car's USB port, the same one you'd normally use for wired CarPlay or Android Auto. Use the included USB-to-USB-C adapter if the port is a different type, and the extension cable if the port is hard to reach.

  2. Let it boot

Start the car. Your factory screen switches to CarPlay or Android Auto and then shows the DashNova interface as soon as the device boots up. The first start takes about 15–30 seconds. After that it's almost instant.

  3. Pair your phone

Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and connect to DashNova as soon as it appears. Confirm the pairing on your phone and on the car screen. That connects wireless CarPlay or Android Auto. You only need to do this once.

  4. Get it online

For the streaming apps, connect DashNova to the internet via your phone's hotspot or any available Wi-Fi. In the DashNova settings, open Wi-Fi, choose your hotspot or network and enter the password. It remembers the network for next time.

  5. Sign in & stream

Open an app and sign in with the streaming accounts you already have: Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Spotify, DAZN and more. No extra subscription, no new accounts. From now on, DashNova connects automatically every time you start the car.

If something's not right.

The screen stays black or doesn't switch

Use the USB port that supports CarPlay or Android Auto. Look for the phone or CarPlay icon. Try the included adapter, or unplug the device and plug it back in. The first start can take up to 30 seconds to complete.

Pairing won't go through

Turn Bluetooth off and on again, delete any old “DashNova” entry from your phone's Bluetooth list and try again. Keep the phone unlocked and the screen on while pairing is in progress.

Streaming apps won't load

This is almost always the internet connection. Check that your phone's hotspot is on and that DashNova is connected to it in the Wi-Fi settings. A weak mobile signal also affects streaming quality.

It drops out while driving

Check that the cable or adapter is firmly seated. A loose connection is usually the cause. When streaming, a dropping hotspot can also interrupt it. Wireless CarPlay itself should stay stable.

It's slow or laggy

Close apps you don't need and use the 5 GHz band of your hotspot where possible. How smoothly it runs also depends on your phone's data connection in that area.
